| Adrian Dessi is the President and founder of Dessi Consulting. Throughout his thirty-year direct marketing career the common thread has been developing strategy, strategic planning and program implementation for direct marketing businesses.
Adrian began his career in consumer financial services at Chemical Bank. A few years later as the VP Marketing & Advertising for Old Stone Bank in Rhode Island, he championed the use of his analysis and creative skills to develop strategies to launch new channels of distribution and new products introductions.
After years of progressive growth in consumer banking he began working for such notable advertising agencies as Rapp & Collins and Dancer Fitzgerald Direct, working with clients such as Double Day Book Clubs, Barclays Bank of California’s, International Gold Corporation, and Save the Children. Adrian was instrumental in developing strategies to help clients whose industries where discovering the need to establish new direct marketing businesses, extend new brands,
and launched new products.
In 1985 Adrian became the Director of Marketing and Advertising for KPMG/Peat Marwick. At KPMG he began to expand his strategic expertise to include database marketing, CRM/CDI. Adrian became an early adaptor of how “Strategy for Information Technology” can support customer/client acquisition and loyalty programs
After four years Adrian joined Donnelley Marketing as VP of Marketing & Advertising. Challenging traditional methods of customer/client analysis he built a state of the art Marketing Research capability, using such methods as Fractal and Neural Net modeling of consumer data.
In 1991 Adrian became the Director of New Business Development responsible for the creation of direct marketing businesses for Avon Products Inc. At Avon he developed their first multi-channel business, launching a consumer Mail Order catalog selling H&B products. It was at his strategic direction that Avon Products added another channel when he launched the award-winning Avon.com web site.
Adrian expanded his role as creator of new direct channel businesses when in 2000 he joined the Sunstar Group of companies. Sunstar is a CPG manufacturer of Oral Care and H & B products, and is known as the Colgate of Japan. As the Global General Manger of Direct and E-Businesses, Adrian launched a successful direct to professional business and improved existing multi-channel capabilities and ROI of their Japanese-based direct consumer businesses.
Dessi Consulting is a strategy for direct business consulting firm focusing on building new multi-channel marketing businesses or improving existing marketing capabilities. Adrian attended Pace University and graduated with a BA in Marketing from the Lubin
School of Business. Adrian received his MBA in Marketing Management from the Peter J. Tobin College of Business at Saint John’s University in 1975.
